Tweesteden hospital (ETZ) in Tilburg plays a key role in regional healthcare. It is keen to become more sustainable now in line with the Dutch government's 2030 climate targets.

The hospital chose to upgrade the existing lighting with LEDs and motion sensors instead of replacing the lighting installations completely. This avoided the need for new housings or extensive rewiring, and left the ceilings untouched. The new LED modules were installed in record time by in-house staff, taking just ten minutes per module. Careful planning allowed the hospital's 24/7 operations to continue as usual. The upgrade to LED luminaires and motion sensors resulted in more than 40% energy savings.
